How to Overcome a Body Fat Plateau!

Have you hit a Plateau and your Body Fat isn’t shifting?

This is a common physiological process that can occur after about a month of training on a fat burning program. This can totally be avoided if you shock your metabolism the right way. Here are our top tips that we suggest in order to avoid a plateau or how to move quickly out of it.

Increase The Intensity of Your Workouts: One of the most effective ways to shock your metabolism is to increase the intensity in your workouts especially with resistance training. Resistance training increases lean muscle, which increases your resting metabolic rate. The higher your resting metabolic rate, the higher your ability to burn fat when at rest.

Get Hot and Spicy: Adding spicy foods such as chilli, jalapenos and cayenne to your food may increase your metabolic rate due to the active compound, capsaicin. Capsaicin is the compound found in spicy foods which gives them heat, and this stimulates thermogenesis (increase in core body temperature) and also suppresses your appetite.

Chew Your Food Slowly: The slower you chew your food the longer it takes to consume your meal. The longer it takes for you to consume your meal the quicker you will feel satisfied. So stay away from your phone or laptop when eating and focus on the task at hand. Eating at a fast pace or without foucs increases your chance of over eating because it takes 20 minutes for your brain to signal satiety to stop you from eating

Change Up Your Workout Routine: By changing the time of the day you workout will shock your body out of a routine as well as trying a different form of training. If you do the same thing day in and day out, your body will adapt to your routine. By changing the time of day you workout will also increase calorie burn, so try something new that will increase your motivation and keep you from falling off the band wagon.
